To Whom It May Concern:
It is our understanding that a field inspection of the proposed remodel brought to light
a concern with the proposed addition’s proximity to an existing concrete septic tank. It
is our understanding that a corner of the proposed exterior wall (new dining room) is
approximately 4’-6” from the edge of the existing 1,200 gallon concrete septic tank.
Based on this information, it is our professional opinion that deepening the continuous
footing to 3’-0” near the tank will remove the tank from the “influence zone” of the
footing; i.e. the septic tank will not experience greater lateral pressure than it does in
it’s current state.
Please see Revision #3 dated 11/16/2022 Sheets S-1 and SD-1 for revised plans
reflecting this change.
