WHEREAS, numerous national organizations have joined together in declaring the month of November 2022 as
National Family Caregivers Month to honor more than 40 million caregivers across the, country; and
WHEREAS, the California In -Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program is recognized nationally and has been
replicated in other states as the preferred way to provide assistance to people who need long-term care; and
WHEREAS, the work of Butte County's IHSS Home Caere Workers is both physically demanding and emotionally
challenging; and
WHEREAS, the work of Butte County's IHSS Home Care Workers requires great sensitivity, honesty, patience, trust,
commitment, dedication and compassion; and
WHEREAS, 3,542 IHSS Home Care Workers provide domestic and personal care to 3,953 IHSS recipients; and
WHEREAS, 2,153 IHSS Home Care Workers are relatives and spouses of 3,953 IHSS recipients.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby recognize the month of
November as Butte County "In -Home Supportive Services Home Care Workers, Month,"
