HomeMy WebLinkAbout22-178WHEREAS,, Don Taylor, Housing and Homeless Administrator with the Department of Employment and Social
Services (DESS), has announced his retirement effective December 30, 2022; and
WHEREAS, Don began his career with the County of Butte on September 24, 1994 with the Department of
Behavioral Health as a Mental Health Counselor. Don was later promoted to Senior Mental Health Counselor on October
28, 2000; Supervisor, Mental Health Counselor on May 24, 2003; Program Manager Clinical Services on September 15,
2012; and Assistant Behavioral Health Director Clinical Services on February 28, 2015. On October 19, 2019, Don promoted
to his current position as Housing and Homeless Administrator with the Department of Employment and Social Services;
and
WHEREAS, Don has devoted his career to improving the lives of children, families and seniors and has taken great
pride in his job as a public servant conducting himself with the highest level of integrity and responsibility; and
WHEREAS, as a Housing and Homeless Administrator, Don dedicated himself to providing excellent customer
service to staff and the families served, and valued the role of educating and empowering staff to provide the highest
quality of work. As the Housing and Homeless Administrator, Don was instrumental in the creation of the Housing and
Homeless Team within DESS bringing exceptional support and assistance to hundreds of vulnerable members of the
community; and
WHEREAS, Don has worked diligently for the past 28 years and 3 months in the best interest of Butte County and
its residents, earning the respect of his Behavioral Health and DESS colleagues, employees, and the many families he has
served over the years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby extends its appreciation
for your many years of dedicated service.
