HomeMy WebLinkAbout23-003WHEREAS, after 25 year of dedicated public service, Assistant Chief Probation Officer John Dwayne Martin has announced his retirement effective January 21, 2023; and WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Martin began his career with the Butte County Probation Department in 1997 as a full- time Probation Officer. Dwayne progressed up the ranks, and was promoted to a Supervisory aiss|gnrnemt|m208I,and tn Program Manager in 2013. He accepted his promotion to Assistant Chief Probation Officer in 2019; and WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Martin has been an active member of the California Association of Probation Services Administrators (CAp5A) having twice served as the CAPSA State Treasurer and the C4PSAState President. Thema roles require extensive knowledge, hard work, and transparency. His research and commitment to improving functionality and the efficiency in the field of Probation as one of the longest seated members of the board has left its mark by paving the way for other agencies to find success and improve the lives and welfare of others; and WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Martin has served during countless emergencies owertheyears. During the devastating Camp Fire in 2018L he served as an administrator assigned to the Emergency Operations Center and helped organize resources for those participating in the field, during initial evacuations and beyond; and WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Martin is a loyal public servant, whose hard work and professionalism is unparalleled. His commitment to the citizens of Butte County and to the employees that he has served over the years in the Probation Department is fully recognized and appreciate�. His contributions to the field of Probation and his lasting efforts will most certaim|yleave things behind better than when hefirst joined thlsprofession; and NOW, THEREFORE, 8E|TRESOLVED that the Butte County Board ofSupervisors Vnits own behalf, and nnbehalf of the residents of the County of Butte, express to John Dwayne Martin sincere appreciation for his dedication and outstanding service, and further wish him the warmest regards upon his retirement.
