HomeMy WebLinkAbout23-004Whereas, Section 8-Sufthe Butte County Code empowers the Chief Administrative Officer of the County ofButte hm proclaim the existence, or threatened existence of a local emiergency when the county is affected, or likely to be affected, by a local emergency and the Board of Supervisors is not in session; and WHEREAS, the conditions of extreme peril did warrant and necessitate the proclamation of the existence of a local emergency; and WHEREAS, at the commencement of the local emergency the Board of Supervisors was not in session (and could not immediately be called into sess,ion); and WHEREAS, the Chief Administrative Officer of the Cou:nty of Butte proclaimed the existence of a local emergency within the County of Butte on the 5th day of Januairy, 2023; and WHEREAS, it is hereby found that local resources are unable to cope with the effects of said emergencies and the County of Butte req,uests California Disaster Assistance Act (CDAA) funding be made available. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the Proclamation of Existence of aLocal Emergency with respect to the January 2023 Winter Storms by the Chief Administrative Officer is hereby ratified and confirmed by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte; and IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED that Joshua Jimerfield, Deputy Administrative Officer for the Office of Emergency Management of the County of Butte, is hereby designated as the a u:thorized representative of the County of Butte for the purpose ofreceipt, processing, and coordination ofall inquiries and requirements necessary toobtain available state and fedena|disaster assistance.
