Week tohighlight efforts in communities across the nation and to heighten awareness of important public health issues;
and
WHEREAS, the American Public Health Association has declared April 3-9, 2023, as National Public Health Week;
WHEREAS, through this year's theme, and Celebrating Cultures /nHealth" / ButteCounty Public Health
will join other counties |nCalifornia and across the nation, toraise awareness that healthy communities start with, healthy
individuals; and
WHEREAS, Butte County Public Health believes that individuals who make healthy choices and set examples for
fanmOyand friends lead to healthier communities. To maintain healthy communities, Butte, County Public Health is
committed to the department mission to promote individual, community and environmental health through prevention,
education, protection and intervention; and
WHEREAS, during National Public Health Week, Butte County Public Health will provide educational information
that highlights efforts that promote health equity and celebrates the unique ways that different cultures focus omhealth.
Fostering cultural connections supports the health and quality of life for all Butte County residents; and
WHEREAS, all p�ub�lic health professionals and advocates provide an important role in protecting and furthering
the health and welfare of our residents, and their dedicated efforts are appreciated and worthy of commendation; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE[TRESOLVEDthatdheButteQountyBoamdof5upen/isorsherehyrecnBnizesAph|3-9\2O28,
as"Butte County Public Hem|thVVeek,"and commends the Public Health Department and all those who work inthe field
