HomeMy WebLinkAbout23-032WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 1416 (AB 1410, passed in 2022, requires all ballot labels for state measures to include
the same list of proponents andl opponents that is printed in the State Voter Information Guide, which is mailed
separately; and
WHEREAS, duplication of this information causes significant space concerns on the ballot, leading to increased
design, printing and postage costs; and
WHEREAS, Butte County's voter information guide is included in the voter packet containing all information
pertaining to local measures along with the ballot; and
WHEREAS, counties are permitted to opt -out of duplicating the proponent and opponent information for local
measures onto the ballots.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that having found that the duplication of local measure information is
unnecessary and causes unclue burden and costs to be placed on the County, Butte County will opt -out of the AB 1416
requirements under California Election Code Section 9170 (d) for the 2024 Primary Election and alll future elections.
