RESOLUTION DESIGNATING BUTTE COUNTY OFFICIALS PARTICIPATION
IN THE BUTTE COUNTY COLLABORATIVE GROUP
WHEREAS, the mission of the Butte County Collaborative Group (BCCG) is to form strategic partnerships for
effective collaboration among partners engaged in forest health, ecological restoration, and wildfire safety, and the goals
Vfthe BCCG are to design, communicate, align, and implement projects to promote healthy, ecologically productive, and
fire -resilient watersheds and communities, in a manner that improves social, environmental, and economic conditions in
Butte County, and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the BCCG is to establish a forum for members and stakeholders to address forest health
issues, develop sustainable management strategies and resource opportunities; and
WHEREAS, BCCG participation and membership by agencies/organizations can alignre8ona|vvod,co-createand
update a shared project map, benefit from shared expertise and pooled resources and increase organizational capacity
and project funding, while addressing broadly impacting issues that cannot be resolved individually; and
WHEREAS, BCCG seeks regular participation by Butte County representatives to monitor and advise on matters of
regional forest health, ecological restoration, and wildfire safety efforts, as well as to contribute knowledge on best -
available science and policy; and
WHEREAS, on January 24, 2023, the Board heard a presentation on the purpose and formation of the BCCG and
provided direction to formalize participation by certain Butte County officials; and
WHEREAS, the following County Departments have land management and health and safety responsibilities
relevant to the BCCG collective effort: Development Services, Public Works, Water and Resource Conservation,
Agricultural Commissioner, Fine; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby directs that the following
Butte County Departments, provide a designee to participate in the BCCG for the purposes of facilitating efficient access
to relevant public facing data, and to provide feedback on prospective landscape -level projectsandpartidpateinfundinO
opportunities impacting uraligning with the County's interests:
Department ofDevelopment Services
Department ofPublic Works
Department ofWater and Resource Conservation
Butte County Fire
