CONSENT AGENDA 3.23 Resolution Ratifying Local Disaster Proclamation and Reporting Gubernatorial Declaration - Andy Pickett, the Chief Administrative Officer, proclaimed a local emergency on January 5th, 2023 due to the extreme winter storms. A series of atmospheric river systems brought high winds, substantial precipitation, flooding, stream bank erosion and widespread power outages to all areas of Butte County. In order to obtain State assistance to help with the recovery, a local emergency must be proclaimed. In accordance with the California Emergency Services Act Section 8630(b) (California ESA) the governing body must ratify the proclaimed emergency within seven (7) days for it to remain in effect. Once the proclamation is ratified it must be renewed every 30 days per the California ESA — action requested — ADOPT RESOLUTION AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR TO SIGN.
