RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OFBUTTE AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF THE MOBILE
PROBATION SERVICE CENTERS GRANT PROGRAM (HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS GRANT)
WHEREAS, the Board of State and Community Corrections (hereinafter referred to as BSCC) released the Grant on
November 11, 2022 for Probation Departments to purchase vehicles, equipment, telecommunications, and other
technology needed to operate mobile probation service centers to assist probationers, particularly those individuals who
are unhousedand struggling with meeting probation requirements; and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Probation Department (hereinafter referred to as Department) desires to participate
in the Grant funded through the State Budget Act and administered by the BSCC; and
WHEREAS, the Department submitted a proposal to provide mobile services to probationers to increase in-person
contact, improve their connection to vital services, and increase the number of successful probation completions. On a
basic human -level, this opportunity and access to services will foster hope and resilience for the people we serve here in
Butte County. The Department intends to purchase 32' Diesel Class Cvehidc and outfit for use to provide mobile
services; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE[TRESOLVED that the Chief Probation Officer, ordesignee, ishereby authorized onbehalf
of the Board of Supervisors LP accept the Grant award and sign the Grant Agreement with BS[C, including any
amendments thereof,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Grant funds received hereinafter shall not be used to supplant expenditures
controlled bythis body.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department agrees to abide by the terms and conditions of the Grant
Agreement as set forth by the BSCC.
