HomeMy WebLinkAbout23-075WHEREAS, the State Legislature enacted Assembly Bill 1491 imfiscal year 2991-92 to give counties source of funding to provide pwbU|c health, rnenta| health, and social services programs for which responsibility was tra,msferred to omuntieothrough the realignment of programs; and WHEREAS, realignment provided flexibility tocounties 10 address local conditions within Section 176O8.2O(a)of [aUiforniaVVe]fareand|nstitutiuns[odemhichstates:"AmyommoKyorcKtyorckyandcountymayreaUocakamoneyamon0 accounts in the local health, and welfare fuind, not to exceed 10% of the amount deposited in the accouint from which the funds are reaU|ocatedfor that fiscal year";and WHEREAS, revenues to support public assistance programs require a transfer often percent of revenue to be received in fiscal year 2023-24, estimated at $1/017,876i from Mental Health Realignment to the Social Services fund, which is withiin the statutory transfer limit; and WHEREAS, revenues to support public assistance programs require a transfer often percent of revenue to be received in fiscal year 2023'24, estimated at $,1,204667, from Public Health Realignment to the Social Services Fund, vvhlich is within the statutory transfer limit. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors, authorize the transfer of ten percent of Mental Health Realignment revenue to be received in fiscal year 2023�-24 and a transfer often percent of Public Health Realignment revenue to be received in fiscal year 20,23-24tm Social Services for am estimated total transfer to Social Sen/ices of $2,222,543 and make the finding that the transfers of realignment revenues are based on the most cost- effective use ofavailable revenues tnmaximize client outcomes.
