WHEREAS, |nResolution g3-131the Board ofSupervisors resolved toestablish aprogram ofpurchasing
volunteer fire apparatus and adequate facilities tohouse them inthe form ofthe Commmun|tyCost Share Program and
Community Cost Share Trust Fund, and
WHEREAS, Resolution 94-110 established the funding mechanism for the Program as.
A. Not more than $100,000 in anniva:l savings in the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL
FIRE) / Butte County Fire Department (BCFD)agreement;
B. Unanticipated revenue from use of Couinty fire resources by Federal agencies.
C. Unanticipated revenue from use of County fire resources by State agencies,
D. Civil cost cqUection or court ordered restitution revenues paid by persons negligently Vrcriminally causing
fires.
WHEREAS, onNnvem1ber12,2019the Board mfSupervisors approved a policy amendment adding the ability to
use up to $10,000per year ofCost Share funds by the Fire Department to specifically maintain volunteer company
equipment, and
WHEREAS, volunteer company equipment is in need of additional maintenance, and
WHEREAS, the Community Cost Share Program was found tofoster acooperative spirit and make apositive
contribution to the replacement of outdated facilities and equipment, and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the County to maintain volunteer fire company equipment, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the amount available to use for volunteer fire company equipment
maintenance be increased from $10,000 per year to $50,000 per year.

following vote:
