PERSONAL HARDSHIP KENNEL PERMIT REQUIREMENTS
A persona!hardship kennel may only he approved by the Zoning Administrator due to the death,hardship,illness or
military deployment of a family member,ncecssaitating tlie applicanl to care for additional dogs.
2.A personal hardship kennel shall allow no more dogs Ihal .spccilled under this permit,not to exceed 10 dogs.'I'hc totalnumberofdogsincludesanydogsalreadybeingcaredforattheresidence.A personal liardship kennel permit is notrequiredifthetotalnumberofdogsislessthan6dogsovertheageof4months.
Approval of the personal hardship kennel is for a period of one (1)year from the dale of approval.The use shall ceaseuponresolutionofllichardship,An additional one (1)year lime extension may be approved by the ZoningAdministrator,if conditions initially ncccs.siialing the personal hardship kennel remain present upon the completion oftheone-year period.It is the responsibility of the aj^plicanl to notify the Butte County Development .ServicesDepartmentifanextensiontothepersonalhardshipkennelpermitisneeded.Notification must occur at least 30 dayspriortoexpirationofthepermit.
The parcel size of the subject property sliall be maintained at a minimum of 1-acrc during the term of this permit.
All dogs shall be adequately confined to prevent them from running at large.
All dogs housed outdoors shall have adequate roofing and all dogs housed indoors siuill have adequate ventilation,asdeterminedapproprailcbyButteCountyAnimalControl.
No breeding of dogs or boarding of new dogs is allowed.
Dust and drainage from the kennel enclosure sliall not create a nauisance or hazard to adjoining properties or uses.

9.Kciuicis sluill lie kept iii a clean and sanitary condition by tlic daily removal of waste and by the use of spray anddisinfectantstopreventtheacciiimilationofflies,the spread ol'disoase.or offensive odors.The applicant shall ensurethatanimal waste is properly managed and disposed of in appropriate solid waste receptacles.
lO.Exercise areas separate from housing areas may have llooring other than cement (e.g.grass,gravel)and shall be free of
standing water or mud.
I 1.Outdoor exercise areas,runs,or yards may be used only during daylight hours.
Animal odors shall not be detechable beyond the property lines of the propert)'where the kennne!is located.
1.1.Kennels shall be maintained in compliance with Butte County Code..Section 4,including obtaining a Kennel License
from Butte County Animal Control,and payment of all aplicable fees.The Kennel and dog records shall be made readily
available to inspection by the Butte County Animal Control.
14.The applicant shall maintain records ofeach individual dog including:
a.Photo of dog:
b.Dog name;
c,Dog description:d.Rabies vaccination information;
e.Microchip number (if applicable);
f.Dog owner's name and contact information:
Other distinguishing information.
15.All dogs shall be maintained in compliance with .Sec.122065 of the California llealih and Safety Code,rec]uiremcnts for
the treatment of dogs.
16.Kennels shall not produce noise levels at any point greater than the Maximum Allowable Noise Exposure levels shown in
Table 24-165-1 of the Butte Coimty Code.If noise compliants are received by Butte County OfUcials.a field test toverifynoiselevelsmayberequired,pursuant to jirovisions of Section 24-165 of the Butte County Code.
17.The Zoning Administrator may revoke its approval ol'this Administrative Permit,if any of the following applies:
a.The applicant or property owner has altered the cireunistanees under which the permit w'as granted to a degree thatoneormoreofthefindiiigsrequiredtograntiheoriginalpermitcannolongerbemade;
b.Permit issuance w'as based on misrepresentation by the applicant through the ommission of a material statement in the
ap plication:
c.One or more ofthe permit conditions ol'appro\al have nofbecn complied with or fulUlled;
d.The applicant or properly owner has failed or refused to allow inspections for compliance;
e.Improvements authorized by the permit are in \iolaiion ofthe Zoning Ordinance or any law.ordinacc.regulation,or
statute;or
f.The use is being operated in a manner which constitutes a nuisance.
