RESOLUTION APPROVING DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY AND FIRE PROTECTION AWARD UNDER COMMUNITY WILDFIRE
PROTECTION PLAN
Butte County Fire Department County of Butte, State of California
WHEREAS, In Fiscal Year 2023-24, the Fire Department applied for the California Department of Forestry and Fire
Protection (CAL FIRE) California Climate Investments Fire Prevention Grant and received notice in Fiscal Year 2023-24 the
grant has been awarded in the amount of $283,360; and
WHEREAS, the project performance period is through December 31, 2025, and will provide resources for an
update and enhancement of the Butte County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) to develop comprehensive,
accessible, collaborative, and community -based wildfire prevention planning tools; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby accepts the grant funds
and desire to enter into an agreement with CAL FIRE to carry out the Community Wildfire Protection Plan Update and
Enhancement Project, approves the Budget Adjustment and appropriate funds;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Butte County Board of Supervisors and Chief Administrative
Officers be authorized to sign and execute said agreement on behalf of the County of Butte.
