COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA,
Resolution No. 23-140
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE GRANT OF THREE NON-EXCLUSIVE EASEMENTS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF
UNDERGROUND UTILITIES AFFECTING COUNTY -OWNED REAL PROPERTY IN OROVILLE FOR THE
PUBLIC SAFETY FACILITY GENERATOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the County of Butte ("County') is the owner of the real property identified as Assessor Parcel Numbers
031-040-045, 031-040-047, 031-040-020, and 031-040-023, commonly known as parcels within the Oroville Government
Campus. Facilities on these parcels include 3, 5, and 7 Gillick Way and 41 County Center Drive ("Properties"), public safety
facilities occupied by the Sheriff's Office and Probation; and
WHEREAS, generally the generator backup systems at the Properties were originally designed to provide less
power capacity than needed now, and some systems have irreparable failures; and
WHEREAS, a current County project titled the Public Safety Facility Generators Construction Project ("Project"),
will engineer and construct modern generator backup systems for the facilities, and at the Board of Supervisors meeting
held June 22, 2022, the Board awarded a contract for construction of the Project; and
WHEREAS, through engineering for the Project, Pacific Gas and Electric Company ("PG&E") determined it
necessary to replace and improve the main electrical service to the Properties, therefore PG&E requires that the County
grant non-exclusive easements with rights of ingress and egress to the easement areas as depicted on Exhibit A in each
Easement Deed; and
WHEREAS, to allow PG&E to execute their scope of work replacing and improving the main electrical service, the
County worked with PG&E to develop three (3) easement areas on the Properties that are limited to what is necessary for
future access and maintenance; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby:
Approve the conveyance of non-exclusive real property easement rights over a portion of the County
owned real property to PG&E.
Authorize the Director of General Services to execute all documents necessary to facilitate the
conveyance including the Easement Deeds.

AYES: Supervisor Connelly, Durfee, Ritter, Teeter and Chair Kimmelshu
