Riffles Resort RV Park Kitchen and Bath Area Building
As requested by the RV Park owner,we have evaluated the water usage for the proposed uses
in the existing building and computed the capacity of the existing leach field based on a site
inspection prepared by Frank Rivera
Copies of the site plan prepared by Frank Rivera and the email received from the owner regarding
the proposed uses of the existing building are attached.Also attached is a copy of the wastewater
calculations for the existing system and the proposed uses.
Based upon the existing and proposed uses of the building and my calculations of the estimated
flows,it is my opinion that the existing septic system is adequate for the proposed uses in the
existing building .

WASTEWATER CALCULATIONS
October 22,2023

ExistingSystem:
According to the existing leach field system that is connected to the building being converted
from a laundry and bathroom facility to a commissary and bathroom facility provided by Frank
Rivera consists of four (4),three (3)foot wide by 60-foot-long leach lines.
Leach field absorption area =240'times 3'=720 square feet
Application rate =0.6 gpd/sf
Leach field capacity =720 sf times 0.6 gpd/sf =432 gpd
Proposed Building Uses:
According to the information supplied by the project owner,the following facilities are proposed
for use in the building.
Two (2)sinks for hand washing and vegetable washing-15 minutes/day,5 days a week.
A triple sink with two (2)faucets -120 minutes/day,2 days a week.
The average water usage for kitchen sinks is estimated to be 1.5 gallons/minute.
Daily flow from the sinks =(120 mins.plus 30 mins.)times 1.5 gallons/minute =225 gallons
per day.
The daily flow from the two (2)existing bathrooms consisting of one (1)sink,one (1)shower
and one (1)toilet each that are used for RV park patrons is estimated as follows:
Sinks =30 min per day times 1.5 gallon/minute =45 gallons/day
Showers =60 min per day times 2.5 gallons/minute =150 gallons/day
Toilets =20 flushes per day times 1.5 gallons/flushes =30 gallons/day
Estimated Daily Flow =225 gallons/day
Total Estimated Daily Flow =450 gallons/day
