RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF ERIK GLEDHILL
UPON RETIREMENT FROM
BUTTE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, Erik Gledhill, Social Worker Supervisor with the Department of Employment and Social Services (DESS),
has announced his retirement effective December 29, 2023; and
WHEREAS, Erik began his career with the County of Butte and DESS on October 6, 1997, as a Social Worker II and
successfully moved up the career ladder to Social Worker III, Social Worker Senior, and to his current position as Social
Worker Supervisor on March 15, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Erik provided strong leadership within the department and in the community by encouraging and
modeling a spirit of collaboration, cooperation and excellent customer service; and
WHEREAS, As a Supervisor, Erik has dedicated himself to providing support and encouragement to staff, and
valued the role of educating and empowering staff to provide the highest quality of work; and
WHEREAS, Erik has devoted his career to improving the lives of children and families, and has taken great pride in
his job as a public servant, conducting himself with the highest level of integrity and responsibility; and
WHEREAS, Erik has worked diligently for the past twenty-six (26) years in the best interest of Butte County and its
citizens, earning the respect of his supervisors, his peers and the many community members he has served over the years;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board, on its own behalf and on behalf of the citizens of Butte County,
extends its appreciation for your many years of dedicated service.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this twelfth day of December 2023 by the following
vote:
AYES: Supervisor Connelly, Durfee, Ritter, Teeter and Chair Kimmelshue
NOES: None
