HomeMy WebLinkAbout23-163ram: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS - • COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA Resolution No. 23-163 RESOLUTION TO APPLY FOR BOATING SAFETY AND ENFORCEMENT FINANCIAL AID PROGRAM FUNDING FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION, DIVISION OF BOATING AND WATERWAYS — FY 2024 -2025 WHEREAS, funding from the Boating Safety and Enforcement Financial Aid Program helps support the provision of necessary law enforcement services on the waterways of Butte County; and WHEREAS, Harbors and Navigation Code Section 663.7(e) and California Code of Regulations Section 6593.4 together require that certain assurances be provided as a condition of receiving such financial aid; and WHEREAS, the Butte County Sheriff, or his designee, is hereby authorized and directed on behalf of the County of Butte, a political subdivision of the State of California, to submit an application to the California Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways for the Boating Safety and Enforcement Financial Aid Program for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 for funding in the amount of $159,342, and to have signature authority on the application and other program application related documents, and to do and perform everything necessary for the purpose of the Resolution; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County is authorized to participate in the Fiscal Year 2024- 2025 Boating Safety and Enforcement Financial Aid Program, that the County shall expend for boating safety programs during the year not less than an amount equal to 100% of the amount received by the County from personal property taxes on vessels, and that the County Auditor is authorized to certify the amount of prior year vessel taxes received by the County.
