HomeMy WebLinkAbout23-164BOARD OF SUPERVISORS COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA Resolution No. 23-164 RESOLUTION DECLARING UNCLAIMED MONIES HELD IN THE COUNTY TREASURY TO BE PROPERTY OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE AND AUTHORIZING TRANSFER OF UNCLAIMED MONIES TO THE GENERAL FUND WHEREAS, there is currently on deposit with the County Treasurer of the County of Butte the sum of $39,245.03 in Estate Heir funds which has remained unclaimed for more than three years; and WHEREAS, the County Treasurer has caused appropriate notice to be published in the form and manner provided by Government Code Sections 50050-50051 in the Enterprise Record, and Oroville Mercury Register, newspapers of general circulation published in the County of Butte; and WHEREAS, after due diligence there remains $18,164.59 in said funds after one claim was successfully made, it is necessary and desirable to provide for the escheatment of said monies to the County of Butte pursuant to Government Code section 50050, et seq.; and WHEREAS, the unclaimed monies in the amount of $18,164.59, have become the property of the County of Butte, and this Board of Supervisors desires to transfer said monies to the General Fund of the County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby Adopt resolution declaring unclaimed monies held in the County Treasury to be property of Butte County and authorizing transfer of unclaimed monies to the General Fund. vote PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 12th day of December, 2023, by the following AYES: Supervisor Connelly, Durfee, Ritter, Teeter, and Chair Kimmelshue NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None ATTEST: Andy Pickett, Chief Administrative Officer and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors Deputy Supervis Tod Kimmelshue, Chair Butte Co my Board of Supervisors
