Subject: National Planning award for the Upper Ridge Community Plan
We were notified today that Butte County has been named as the Honor Award for the Vernon Deines
Award for Comprehensive Plan by the National American Planning Association (APA) Small Town & Rural
Planning Division.
It is exciting to receive national recognition for the efforts towards recovery. Staff and our consulting
team worked tirelessly to assist the community in developing a plan for their next steps forward. This
plan brings hope and continued commitment to the area’s recovery and rebuild effort. Looking forward
to working on the next stages of the implementation of the plan.
