Subject: Burn Down Letter for existing Off-Site Sign on APN 040-020-134
The above referenced parcel, APN 040-020-134, with the address of 1856 Skyway, Chico, CA 95958
is currently zoned Heavy Industrial (HI). The HI zone permits Off-Site Signs with the approval of an
Administrative Permit (per Chapter 24 of the Butte County Code, Article 20 (Signs).
However, since the existing Off-Site Sign was approved by a building permit (94-157) on September
1, 1994, it is considered a pre-existing nonconforming use.
If the sign is destroyed, rebuilding is possible per Butte County Code, Article 22 (Nonconforming
Uses and Structures) if the reconstruction begins within one-year and be completed within three-
years. A building permit will be required to rebuild.
