On June 24, 2024, the fire panel at Roseleaf of Oroville located at 1900 20th Street in Oroville, CA was
replaced. A water heater expelling water caused irreversible damage to the existing fire alarm panel
(model Ademco Vista-128FB). This specific model is no longer in production, and the closest model
(Ademco Vista-128FBPT) was used as a replacement. This model is simply an upgraded version of the
original with updated software, but functions and operates the same. All devices and peripheral
equipment to the system remain unchanged.
The original panel was no longer supported by the manufacturer or tech support, and downloading the
exact program from it was unsuccessful. Foothill Fire Protection (FFP) was able to manually extract the
information and program it onto a new template. After replacing with the new panel, FFP was able to
implant the new program into the new panel.
Butte County FD informed FFP of some existing issues causing false alarms and dispatches stemming
from the alarm system. FFP returned on June 27th to replace the affected devices. Devices were tested,
and system was placed back into full capacity operation. No alarms/troubles/supervisory present upon
departure on June 28th and system was functioning at 100% capacity.
