Resolution No. 24-001
RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH FOR THE NATIONAL REACCREDITATION
ACHIEVEMENT
WHEREAS, the National Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) works to advance and transform public health
practice by championing performance improvement, strong infrastructure, and evidence -based innovation; and
WHEREAS, PHAB assesses a health department's capacity to carry out the 10 Essential Public health Services and
the Foundational Capabilities; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Health first received the national accreditation achievement on September
13, 2017, for a five-year period; and
WHEREAS, on November 2, 2023, the Department of Public Health received the national reaccreditation
achievement, with a 100% score, demonstrating compliance with PHAB's 90 required measures; and
WHEREAS, the national reaccreditation achievement demonstrates the department's commitment to
transparency, accountability, and a culture of quality improvement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors hereby recognize the Department of Public
Health and its staff for the national reaccreditation achievement and meeting the national performance standards for
public health departments.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors this 9th day of January, 2024, by the following vote:
