Resolution No. 24-105
RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE PROCLAMATION OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY FOR THE 2024 JULY PARK WILDFIRE
WHEREAS, Section 8-5 of the Butte County Code empowers the Chief Administrative Officer of the County of Butte to
proclaim the existence, or threatened existence of a local emergency when the county is affected, or likely to be affected,
by a local emergency and the Board of Supervisors is not in session; and
WHEREAS, the conditions of extreme peril did warrant and necessitate the proclamation of the existence of a
local emergency; and
WHEREAS, at the commencement of the local emergency the Board of Supervisors was not in session (and could
not immediately be called into session); and
WHEREAS, the Chief Administrative Officer of the County of Butte proclaimed the existence of a local emergency
within the County of Butte, caused by wildfire; which began on the 241h day of July 2024; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Proclamation of Existence of a Local Emergency, with respect to the
July 2024 Park Wildfire, by the Chief Administrative Officer is hereby ratified and confirmed by the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Butte; and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED that Angie Mannel, Administrative Analyst, is hereby designated as the
authorized representative of the County of Butte for the purpose of receipt, processing, and coordination of all inquires
and requirements necessary to obtain available state and federal disaster assistance.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 30th day of July 2024, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Durfee, Ritter, Teeter and Chair Kimmelshue
