4.1. Adoption of an Urgency Ordinance Specifiying Requirements for the Removal of Structural Debris and
Hazard Trees from Private Property for Park and Thompson Fires
Danielle Nuzum, Deputy Administrative Officer, presented this item to the Board.
The following members of the public submitted Public Comment: Patrizia Hironimus, Morgan Collings, and
John Stonebraker.
Action Requested: ADOPT URGENCY ORDINANCE AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN. (4/5 VOTE REQUIRED)
Motion: Supervisor Teeter
Second: Supervisor Connelly
Motion approved by a 4-0-1 Vote (Supervisors Connelly, Ritter, Teeter and Chair Kimmelshue; Nays:
None Absent: Supervisor Durfee) with changes made to prioritize roads that could be subject to damage
due to weather; removing requirement for arborist certification after the complete removal of all hazard
trees; and updating language to be consistent with previous changes made to Ordinance 32a, 34a and 38a,
stating lien process will go through the Hearing Officer rather than the Board of Supervisors.

There being no further business before the Board, the
meeting adjourned. The Butte County Board of Supervisors
will reconvene at the next regular meeting, scheduled for
October 08, 2024
