After being abandoned in the wake of the Camp Fire, the unincorporated town remains riddled with toxic debris, charred synthetic materials, biohazardous waste, and the remnants of unmanaged destruction. We do not want state-appointed contractors. We demand support for our local crews, our tools, and our capacity. This is a public health crisis and a matter of environmental justice. Under California Health & Safety Code Section 101040, the County has the authority to respond to local health emergencies. We are formally requesting: • Immediate financial assistance for waste removal equipment (e.g., tractor with bucket, dumpsters, protective gear) • Permission and support for community members to manage and direct all cleanup efforts • Assurance that no outside agencies or contractors will be sent in unless invited by the residents We are not asking for charity or misdirected help. We are demanding resources that ought to be distributed, to clean up our land and protect our people. Sincerely, Kenneth Scherer Steward of Concow, CA 2240 St George Ln Chico, Ca 95926 716-880-0386 KOFRASS.COM KOFRASS
