Please exercise judgment before opening attachments, clicking on links, or replying.. This month's atmospheric river produced so much runoff and erosion in the Camp Fire scar that Magalia Reservoir overspilled with turbid water. Devegetation within the Park Fire scar will similarly increase both peak flows and turbidity in Big Chico Creek and its tributaries for years to come, accelerating sedimentation within Five Mile Basin and increasing the risk of catastrophic flooding in Chico. Kudos to the Board and staff for heeding recommendations from citizens such as our foreman emeritus to expedite remediation. I agree that the CSA 24 balance is the most appropriate funding source for the design and environmental phase of the project and hope outside funds become available to start moving the dirt.
