I look forward to the removal of the overreaching blackberry patch along Skyway near Bridger and a few overhanging limbs that could injure passing cyclists. This 12-mile stretch includes many hazards, as identified in the Upper Ridge Community Plan, yet little Hazardous Vegetation. The excessive right-of-way next door to me is certainly overgrown and should be thinned for the health of the stand, to preserve our valuable shade canopy, but the skinny sticks above the cutbank are not any kind of threat warranting expenditure of public dollars. Dead and dying trees, yes very much, but our friends who operate the powerlines have been aggressively destroying trees along this corridor given any superficial sign of ill health. And the stretch from Randlyn Road to Stirling through Sierra Pacific land was harvested in late summer 2018, overstepping a Right of Way exemption to avoid the Timber Harvest Permit process. It will be interesting to see where bids come in relative to the rates in item 5.1 and Public Works's previous $22,000/mile estimate. And how the ensuing Risk-Spend Efficiency compares to widening the bottlenecks and fixing the sections where water sheets across the road. I would like to see the solicitation preclude the expensive removal of viable overstory trees to ensure our public dollars are best spent. John Stonebraker Magalia, CA
