Please exercise judgment before opening attachments, clicking on links, or replying.. I too would like to recognize the dedication of Butte County's professional planning staff who have carried on through crisis after crisis, preserving crucial institutional knowledge. And of the volunteer planning commission, who bring to the process a common citizen's perspective which the professionals may otherwise overlook. This partnership recently produced an award-winning Community Plan which has barely begun to be implemented. Given the Board's dedication to these annual resolutions and the potential revenue influx to effect positive change, it is time for Butte to follow other counties in creating Municipal Advisory Councils. Unincorporated communities unable to regulate their own land use deserve formal participation in the planning process, not merely ad-hoc public comment at its end. John Stonebraker Magalia, CA
