On January 26, 2021, when a split Board within locked Chambers voted to incorporate language scarcely changed
from a Town of Paradise ordinance into County Code, the Chair said it would be brought back in a year.
Now, three and a half years later, we finally see an amendment, but only to silo the abatement procedure away from
these Chambers and widespread public notice. It is long past time for the Board to reconsider section 38A-6, which
is so overbroad that equitable enforcement is impossible and which continues to scapegoat victims of arson as its
abettors.
