I would also support working with DWR to refine a standardized regional groundwater model rather than tasking
individual agencies with creating and updating local models that may not properly interoperate. Generally, local
agencies each needing similar software have been left to license it from private firms at increasing expense. Instead
having publicly-owned software that individual agencies can help tailor and vet will facilitate interagency
coordination.
