The Poe Bypass Reach Fish and BMI Plan requires PG&E to prepare and file a r eport with FERC by May 31, 2024. To create this Report, PG&E contracts the Chico State Biolab (Biolab). Due to circumstances within the Biolab outside of PG&E’s control, processing BMI samples and entering data in the SWAMP have been delayed. The Bio lab won’t have samples processed until April 15, 2024. Then, they will need additional time to write the Report, and PG&E will need time to review it internally . PG&E will then send it to the Forest Service, State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB), United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), and California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW: collectively Agencies). Pursuant to the Poe Bypass Reach Fish and Benthic Macroinvertebrate Plan, the Agencies are allowed at least 30 days to review it. PG&E plans to send the Report to the Agencies by May 15, 2024. To accommodate the 30-day Agency review period and incorporate any changes into the Report , PG&E respectfully requests until June 30 , 2024, to submit the Report to FERC. PG&E submitted this extension of time request to the Agencies on March 1, 2024. The USFWS and CDFW responded with concurrence. The Forest Service and SWRCB did not provide objections. Agency consultation is provided as Enclosure 1.
