Dear Frank L. Blackett:
This letter presents Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s (PG&E) request for an extension
of time to redesign and install the hoist gate components for Poe Dam, which is part of
Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s (PG&E) Poe Hydroelectric Project, Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission (FERC) No. 2107. Included with PG&E’s extension of time
request is a reasoned basis for the request, per Title 18 of the Code of Federal
Regulations, Section 12.40(d). PG&E submitted its original evaluation of a radial bypass
gate hoist at Poe Dam in a letter to your office dated April 22, 2021, and provided its most
recent update regarding a redesign package of the new hoist gate components in a letter
dated January 31, 2023.
The extension of time request and reason for the request are en closed with this letter
(Enclosure 1).
