This colleague has been in touch again, this time alerting me to a series of FOI responses from Japan’s National Institute of Infectious Diseases that were posted to twitter. Her email speaks for itself (emphasis is mine): “Last year, July, one Japanese man whose name is Takashi Uehara (上原敬), he filed FOIAs to National Institute of Infectious Diseases Japan(NIID). One request was "Scientific evidence, papers, etc. that prove that human papillomavirus (HPV) is a pathogen". 3 months later, NIID gave him 4 useless, distracting and irrelevant references, (pic1) https://twitter.com/un4yRFGlfQRAIZD/status/1746272892508332170 Another request was "Scientific evidence, papers, etc., proving the existance of varicella-zoster virus (VZV)".
