The project is designed to enhance safety with upgraded lighting, widened shoulders, improved bridge approaches, rehabilitated culverts, and the new traffic signal at Meridian Road. .ATTENTION: This message originated from outside Butte County. Construction began in July 2023 and is anticipated to be completed by mid-January.  Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
