To Whom it May Concern,
I am protesting the proposed increase tax/assessment on short term rentals which is already excessive at 10% for TOT.
This is discouraging. Our Airbnb helps us pay our mortgage. Money is a lot tighter since my husband retired and I would like to retire
soon but haven’t completely due to finances. I will be 71 in July.
We provide a much needed service to travelers who are visiting family or here on business. The minority of our guests are actual tourists
but regardless, they are people who are looking for something different than a hotel room and our service is driven by demand. Increasing
the cost of our little short term days is not going to promote tourism.
Please let the assessment stay as is, especially for our little mom and pop stays for small number of rooms, perhaps less than four, or at
the least, less than two.
