Blackett: This letter presents an update to Pacific Gas and Electric Company's (PG&E) schedule of planned outages which require dewatering of tunnels, conduits, or penstocks. Penstock dewatering is required for the Bucks Powerhouse Unit 2, which is part of PG&E’s Bucks Creek Hydroelectric Project, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) No. 619. PG&E submitted the 2025 outage schedule to FERC on October 29, 2024 and updates on January 17, 2025, March 7, 2025, and April 22, 2025. Blackett, P.E., Regional Engineer July 25, 2025 Page 2 The Bucks U2 outage extension is necessary due to delays caused by a pressure boundary failure on the lower bonnet of the TSV. PG&E is currently evaluating both temporary and permanent repair options. While the outage may extend beyond one month, the team hopes to have more clarity in the coming weeks to support an additional extension request. The extension will also account for the extensive testing required before the unit can be safely returned to service. This routine maintenance outage will follow the previously executed procedures that have been coordinated with your office. If you have questions or comments regarding this matter, please contact Jamie Visinoni, senior license coordinator for PG&E, at (530) 215-6676.
