To whom it may concern,
I am writing this in regards to fire station 38 on Concow rd and Ishi trail rd.
My understanding is that a fire truck is not currently being considered to be kept on site at station 38. Station 38 is
located in a rural area with high fire risk and little in the way of protection services. This station, its personnel and
equipment stand as a barrier to the prevention of devastating fire spread, as we have learned time and again through
repeated incidents. This area, with proper protection, can save larger areas with much greater populations that would
otherwise be at risk.
I want to make certain that you understand the role that the advanced placement of station 38 equipment has to
containing fires in this area. The truck there is a critical resource that saves lives and property.
Over the years, Peggy and Dot have worked diligently to manage station 38 so that we would be a safer community
here in the Concow basin.
Thank you very much for your prompt attention to this important issue.
