Subject: House an Engine and water tender at Fire station 38
I would like to appeal to you in the name of the Community of Concow, regarding Fire
station 38. I lived in Yankee Hill for 20+ years and was forced to relocate after the
CampFire.
My husband had serious health issues and we were forced to call 9 1 1 many times. Of
course Jarbo Gap station was the first since I lived "around the corner". If the engine and
personnel would have been deployed to the Concow basin it would have been
detrimental to my Husbands life.. ( Not exaggerating).
That's just a small example on a personal level. On a broader, community level, well I
think all the Fire's on the ridge speak for themselves.
This community has such a strong bond and already endured enough. Taking away FS 38
is pernicious and damaging .
I am sure the Community members that will attend the meeting will bring up other strong
reasons why we should keep FS 38.
I implore you to listen to ALL of the Concow/Yankee Hill Community members and then
search your heart. Maybe even imagine if a family member would live in the Concow
basin and is counting on FS 38.
Thank you for listening
With appreciation
