We are interested in learning more from the community about their opinions of these types of land uses and how they envision Butte County in the future. With the current outreach, we are specifically targeting short- term rentals like Airbnb’s, home occupations, and a variety of recreational camping types (this is focused on RECREATIONAL camping and does not address our disaster-related temporary housing, which is a different situation altogether). We have created a survey people can fill out, and we will be doing several engagement events, like a booth at the Fair this weekend, and other pop-up events like the Music on the Green in Magalia, where we will have staff there to talk to people about these subjects and take input on their opinions. This is the beginning of the process, and we will continue to reach out to various stakeholders and other interested parties in the County. If there is a group in particular that you would like us to coordinate with, please let me know so we can make sure it's on the list. Once we have completed the community engagement stage of this project, we will bring suggested clean-ups to the Zoning Ordinance to the Planning Commission for recommendation to the Board, similar to the other clean-up projects we have done in the last couple of years. Attached is an informational flyer with additional details, and you may access the survey directly here: Butte County Planning Land Use Survey Please share the survey link with others so we can reach as many people as possible. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the project in more detail, please let me know. Thanks. Paula M.
