Assembly Select Committee on Child Care Costs Holds First Hearing On Wednesday, August 20, the Assembly Select Committee on Child Care Costs held its first hearing since the Select Committee was created by Speaker Rivas in April. SB 54: Plastic Pollution Prevention and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act Permanent Regulations Published for 45- Day Public Comment Period Last Friday, August 22, the California Department of Resources and Recycling (CalRecycle) published in the California Regulatory Notice Register the permanent regulations for SB 54 (Allen), the state’s landmark Plastic Pollution Prevention and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act. WEBINAR: PPIC on California’s Changing Child Care Landscape The Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) will host a webinar on Thursday, September 4, from 11:00 am to 11:40 am to discuss findings from their new report, “California’s Changing Child Care Landscape: Understanding Costs and Supply.” The report examines the shifting landscape of publicly subsidized care, with a focus on understanding both costs for families and sustainability for providers. Following a brief overview of the key takeaways from the report, the webinar will feature an opportunity for attendees to participate in Q&A. The webinar will be livestreamed on the PPIC’s website.
