in Butte County
Paving Work Planned This Week and Next Week on State Route 99
BUTTE COUNTY – Caltrans is alerting motorists of paving operations and traffic impacts
along northbound State Route 99 (SR 99) in Butte County north of Chico.
Crews completed paving operations today between Rock Creek and Cana Highway on
northbound SR 99.
Additional work is scheduled on as follows:
· Wednesday, September 10 - Paving on southbound SR 99 between Anita Road
and Garden Brook Drive with one-way traffic control in place from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
· Thursday, September 11 - The #2 lane will be closed on northbound SR 99 from
Southgate Avenue to Skyway between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m.
· Monday, September 15 and Tuesday, September 16 – Continued work on the
#2 lane from Southgate Avenue to Skyway between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Motorists should expect delays in these areas and plan extra travel time. The California
Highway Patrol (CHP) and construction crews will assist with traffic control, and portable
message signs are in place to alert drivers in advance.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11
Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work
Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing
these improvements.
