The permit documents have been reviewed and comments are listed below. Please respond in writing to each comment. Complete and clear responses will expedite the re-check and approval of this project. Please provide two complete revised plan sets with your response, or submit electronically directly to the Permit Center at dsbuilding@buttecounty.net. Please respond in writing to each comment by marking this comment list or creating a response letter. Indicate which detail, specification, or calculation shows the requested information. At minimum, the following must be included with each plan review response: 1. Page / sheet number(s), detail / specification number(s), etc., and include all applicable code section(s). 2. Briefly explain in writing, how the design is intended to comply with the applicable code sections. 3. Revisions must be identified with a cloud and delta symbol. Complete and clear responses will expedite the re-check of this project. 2. Plan review time beyond the 3rd cycle will be billed on a time-and-materials basis. STRUCTURAL COMMENTS: by: Michael Main, P.E., Plan Check Engineer 1. Original plans show LVL floor joists. Plan change proposes to change the LVL floor joists to floor trusses. Please demonstrate how the floor joists at the cantilevered deck are attached and supported. Original plans show details 8/SD3 and 9/SD4 which may need to be modified for the proposed change. 2. Please revise details on sheets SD3 and SD4 for the change from LVL floor joist to floor trusses. Note: One such instance is the ledger connection details show SDS screws attaching to solid continuous rim joist and blocking, while truss package may show premanufactured truss blocking between floor joists. Please address all such pertinent changes. 3. Plans and prior truss calculations show the “C” type trusses over the main entrance covered porch with a width of 8’-0”. The new truss calculations show a width of 8’-6”. Please coordinate. 4. Truss layout calls for drag loads of 3,200 pounds and 3,400 pounds at gable end trusses A01 and A06 respectively (which matches the prior truss submittal package and approved plans). However, no indication within the truss calculations was found indicating that these trusses were designed for these drag loads. Please coordinate.
