HomeMy WebLinkAboutSTR-25-0013 Kerston Renewal Application 1 of 2 SHORT-TERM RENTAL ADMINISTRATIVE PERMIT APPLICATION Rentals must have a local property manager who is available 24-hours per day during times the property is rented. For hosted stays, the property owner is the primary resident of the rental unit and remains on site during the rental stay. Un-hosted stays must have a local property manager or designee of the owner to supervise the rental and ensure compliance with all operational requirements. Un-hosted short-term rental stays shall not exceed 90 nights per calendar year, except 180 nights per calendar year shall be allowed when, 1) the parcel is zoned with a minimum parcel size of 5-acres or greater; and, 2) the parcel is 5-acres or greater in size. ***PLEASE NOTE*** The Short-Term rental unit must meet current California Building Code standards. It also must be permitted by the county and meet the "R" occupancy standards of the California Building Code, and cannot occur within Recreational Vehicles, yurts, tents or other similar types. Please ensure that you have a building permit for the unit before you apply, unless the unit was built before 1962, in which case Assessor Field notes will be required. You may contact the Butte County Building Division at dsbuilding@buttecounty.net or 530.552.3700 to inquire about building permit status for the unit. In addition, the Short-Term Rental unit cannot be located within the Very Low Density Country Residential (VLDCR) zone and in most cases the owner of the property must prove that they live on the property by providing two forms of identification (i.e. copy of driver's license and utility bill). You may contact the Planning Division at 530.552.3701 or dsplanning@buttecounty.net to inquire and verify the zoning is appropriate for the Short-Term Rental unit. We cannot offer refunds for Short Term Rental permits if any of the above invalidates the application. Know what is required before you apply.
