This issue was addressed to you in November of 2019 by James and Barbara Ring where they addressed the lack of infrastructure improvements not keeping pace with the pace of development. These roads are posted related to truck weights and lengths, and I’m sure they were not designed for highway traffic. The continued routing of highway 99 traffic through our neighborhoods is not appropriate and is due to the negligence of the state to address the annual flooding issue causing the problem. I am hopeful that as a board you are or have taken steps to address the issue at the state level. First, the highway needs to be raised to avoid the flooding issue, or the water diverted in a manner to not impact the neighborhoods. Second, the state should be held liable for street and road repairs and maintenance due to the additional traffic and weights that are causing wear and tare on the roads, especially when they are wet and the ground saturated where damage is amplified. This rerouting is both dangerous and destructive to our communities. Traffic is diverted and controlled speeds are not enforced. There were no less than three near misses at the intersection of Keefer and Felicidad Lane last night, where traffic was flowing at high speeds with home owners attempting to turn into their drive ways. This continued enablement of routing highway traffic through our neighborhoods is unacceptable. Should there be an accident this email will serve as evidence that government officials were aware of the problem. Should diversion of traffic continue, until the problem is addressed, traffic enforcement should be made mandatory for the duration of the event on both Keefer and Garner Roads. I would like for someone to reach back out to me for information about what is being done, and what has been done to address the issue.
