Blackett, P.E., Regional Engineer Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Division of Dam Safety and Inspections 100 First Street, Suite 2300 San Francisco, CA 94105-3084 RE: Bucks Creek Hydroelectric Project, FERC No. 619-CA Bucks Storage Dam Low Level Outlet Schedule Update – Bucks Storage Dam Low Level Outlet Modification Project Dear Frank L. Blackett: This letter presents an update to Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s (PG&E) submittal package for the Bucks Storage Dam Low Level Outlet Modification Project, which is part of PG&E’s Bucks Creek Hydroelectric Project, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) No. 619. PG&E submitted a request for FERC authorization on July 25, 2025. As of this update, FERC authorization has not yet been issued. The project schedule is dependent on the procurement of the fixed cone valve which has a substantial lead time (20+ weeks). At this time, even if FERC authorization were received immediately, delivery of the fixed cone valve would not be anticipated until approximately July, and construction would require a minimum duration of approximately three months. Proceeding under those conditions would extend construction into winter, which is not feasib le due to safety, access, and operational limitations. Accordingly, provided FERC authorization is received, PG&E would proceed with procurement of the required equipment and initiate construction following snowmelt in June 2027, with construction completion anticipated by August 2027. Should you have technical questions concerning this matter, please contact Ben Fontana, senior dam safety engineer for PG&E, at (530) 762 -9459. For general questions, please contact Jamie Visinoni, senior license coordinator for PG&E, at (530) 215-6676. Sincerely, Kyle Ingvoldsen, P.E.
