Subject: Revised Part 12D Inspection Plans and Independent Consultant (IC) Team
Proposal, 2026 Periodic Inspection, Round Valley Dam
Dear Mr. Cruzen:
Your February 5, 2026, letter transmitted the revised Part 12D Inspection Plan and
Independent Consultant Team (IC Team) Proposal (collectively, the Inspection Plan) for
the 2026 Periodic Inspection (PI) for Round Valley Dam, FERC No. 803-01. We have
reviewed the revised Inspection Plan, and the additional information adequately
addresses the comments in our January 22, 2026, letter.
Per 18 CFR § 12.34(a), you are required to obtain the approval of the IC Team
from the Director, Division of Dam Safety and Inspections, prior to the performance of
this PI. The proposed IC Team comprised of Drs. Christopher Hunt and Kathleen Darby
and the Inspection Plan are approved by the Director of the Division of Dam Safety and
Inspections.
No response is required to this letter; the Pre-Inspection Preparation Report (PIPR)
is the next submittal and is due by June 13, 2026, for this Part 12D Inspection. You may
submit the PIPR earlier than that, if desired. Your submittal is to be filed using the
Commission’s eFiling system at https://www.ferc.gov/ferc-online/overview. When
eFiling, select Hydro: Dam Safety; San Francisco Regional Office from the eFiling menu.
The cover page of the filing must indicate that the material was eFiled. For assistance
