As a member of Nami Butte County and a co-facilitator of the Family Support Group, we continually hear from family members seeking help for a loved one who refuses treatment, is delusional, and frequently has anosognosia. Just one example is the mother whose son is living in her car in the driveway but cannot come into the house because of his bizarre behavior, deteriorating, not eating, etc. yet is not quite a candidate for a 5150 hold. Now with the implementation of SB-43 there is hope of possible treatment and/or conservatorship. We do understand the challenges facing the county to fund the necessary services and hope the costs can be offset by future decreases in jailings, hospitalizations, homelessness costs, etc. Thank you, Patricia Pierce Nami Butte County Co-Facilitator Family Support Group 530-228-8266
