Subject: Invasive Weed Management Strategy
Dear Ms. Maggard:
This letter acknowledges receipt of your October 14, 2025, filing of an Invasive
Weed Management Strategy (Management Strategy) for the Poe Hydroelectric Project’s
No. 2107.1 The project is located on the North Fork Feather River in Butte County,
California. The project occupies federal land within the Plumas National Forest
administered by the U. S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service (Forest Service).
Development of the Management Strategy was required by section 4.3.2.1 of your
Integrated Vegetation Management Plan, approved by the Commission on November 2,
2023.2 Commission staff have reviewed the October 14 filing and found that it includes
specific treatment prescription for target invasive weed species that were identified
during comprehensive surveys, and the best management practices to protect sensitive
resources. The filing also documents that the Management Service was provided to the
Forest Service, on November 1, 2024, and you received their approval on August 8,
2025.
