State Route 99 Guardrail Repairs in Chico
Temporary Lane and Ramp Closures Scheduled for Tomorrow
BUTTE COUNTY – Caltrans maintenance crews are scheduled to perform guardrail
repairs in Chico this weekend, requiring temporary lane and ramp closures along
southbound State Route 99 (SR 99) to State Route 32 (SR 32).
Work is scheduled for Saturday from 5:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Motorists should expect
reduced lanes in the work area, possible delays during peak morning hours, and crews
and equipment working near live traffic. Drivers are advised to slow down, follow posted
signs, and allow extra travel time.
Location & Closures
· Southbound SR 99 on-ramp at East Avenue
· Lane #2 closed from East Avenue to Cohasset Road Exit
· Southbound SR 99 on-ramp at East 1st Avenue
· Lanes #2 and #3 close from East 1st Avenue to SR 32 Exit
· Lane #1 will remain open through this stretch
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11
Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work
Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews
performing these improvements.
